Volunteers show up for Days of Caring 2021

Day of Caring 2021

One hundred volunteers from local companies and schools participated in The United Way of South Central Massachusetts DAY OF CARING.  Over the course of four days on September 24, 25, 30 and October 8th, volunteers raked, planted, painted, cleaned, installed flooring and manned a food drive all supporting non-profit agencies, schools and municipal buildings in the towns of Charlton, Southbridge, Sturbridge and Webster and Dudley.   The food drive collected over 100 boxes of food and $1,200 in cash donations at Big Bunny, Price Chopper and Park’n Shop that benefited Food Shares in Webster and Southbridge.

“Our volunteers are always happy to pull their weight during these Days of Caring.  Providing much needed service to non-profits with manpower that might not be able to get if not for United Way” said May O’Coin, Executive Director of UWSCM.  “We deeply appreciate the public’s generosity and support for the families and organizations in our community.  With special acknowledgement to Cornerstone Bank and Southbridge Rotary Club for sponsoring this year's event."
